On February 18th, 2007, the Abraham Conservation Award was presented to 16 recipients from the Democratic Republic of Congo in a Ceremony held in Kinshasa. The Abraham Conservation Awards celebrate and recognize the courage and dedicated contribution of individuals who labor, in obscurity and oftentimes at great personal risk, to save Congo's natural landscapes and the wildlife that inhabits them.
